HostGator: I’ll Be Your Host

Hostgator

HostGator Review

What does this tool do: Provides inexpensive 24/7 hosting services, and does it very well.

Cost: From 4.95 per month

Who Needs It: If you are planning on setting up your own weblog or website with your own domain name, you’ll have to look into a host.

Comments:

A “host” in the world of blogging is generally defined as a location that stores the files and documents that make up your website or weblog. Files and documents that you prepare are uploaded from your computer via your internet connection to hard drive storage…somewhere else. Host locations are found worldwide. The host then feeds your information through the internet to desktops around the world.  If you have your own domain name and plan to use it on your own weblog or website, you will need a host and HostGator is one of the best. My own qualifying criteria for a good host are: uptime (how often your site is knocked offline), 24/7 professional telephone support from American English speakers who understand complicated issues, load time (how fast your site loads), video and written tutorials that explain the sometimes dicey process of hosting issues, quick resolution of problems and simple billing categories.  HostGator satisfies all these check-offs and more. I have used several hosts over the years and, although there are many options, no others have performed as well as this one.
