Hey, a good find! Backlinks are identified when other people voluntarily place a link to your site on theirs…in effect a “vote” in your direction. They are one of many tools used to evaluate the gravity and popularity of any site. When entering into a competitive market you need to identify whether there’s a strong demand for your message or product. If you find competitive sites with thousands of backlinks, you’ve found one element that defines good market potential. Check your own site’s popularity here as well.
