I set a Google Alert for Vonics at the time this review was first written, anticipating that I might sometime receive their notice of bankruptcy. Never have received such a notice. But the continuing service outages throughout my one year subscription have lead me to throw in the towel. I’m trying MagicJack now but it’s too early to give a full recommendation. Will update that review later. VOIP is still Buyer Beware.

October 4. I’m wondering if they are still in business. The 877 line is dead, and the support line goes to an anonymous “leave a message” box. My phone hasn’t worked at all since early summer, despite doing the rebootings they have called for periodically. I’d mail my box back for a hypothetical refund, if they published an address.
